Healing isn’t for the faint hearted, especially when you are taking a natural and holistic approach – there’s a lot of trial and error involved! Because a holistic approach is shunned and condemned by mainstream medicine, it leaves the individual to fend for themselves through the minefield of vast and varied holistic options. It can be hard to know where, or why, you need to start looking to alternatives. Especially if you have been caught in the hamster wheel of western medicine. That, combined with the societal push for instant gratification, is often what fools people into thinking western medicine is their only option. After all, if you believe you are already receiving ‘Gold Star’ healthcare, why would you look towards natural options?
Unfortunately, people have been programmed to believe that they must alleviate any discomfort immediately. They don’t want to do the hard yards that true healing requires. They just want the symptoms gone, at any cost. It’s really the perfect mindset to become a lifetime Big Pharma customer. Pop a pill that relieves the symptom immediately, and in turn, gives the patient the illusion that their problem is fixed. That is until they try to come off the medication and the symptoms return immediately. The patient then believes they can only feel better whilst being on the medication, and so, just like that, they become a lifetime customer to that specific drug. Then of course, the side effects of that medication start to appear – causing another discomfort that must also be alleviated immediately. Oh wait, here’s a second pill that needs to be taken for life. Now, don’t forget with each knew discomfort (dis-ease), the Doctor must send you for a myriad of tests, whether, scans, blood tests, biopsies, etc., after all, they need to narrow down what new drug to prescribe. Cha-ching, cha-ching. Make sure you book all the follow up appointments, too. Oh, and all of your appointments to get a new prescription for your ‘must have’ medications. Cha-ching, cha-ching. Ahh, now, with each new drug you’ve got more discomfort (side effects); that’s more tests, more appointments, more prescriptions. Can you see the hamster wheel of western medicine now? Cha-ching, cha-ching…
If you’ve ever wondered why the Doctors can’t seem to get to the bottom of all of your health problems, let alone fix them. Now you know the answer: True healing is NOT a part of Big Pharma’s business model! You may have also wondered why they haven’t been able to find a cure for any of these ‘diseases’. Take cancer for example: BILLIONS of dollars donated to cancer research every-single-year. Thousands of scientists working on it, decade after decade, and yet, no cure. Surely, with that many resources they would have something by now? You will, however, occasionally hear on the news that they are “on the verge” of a major cancer breakthrough. But somehow, the major breakthrough never seems to come to fruition… Funny that, isn’t it?
It is only once you understand that Big Pharma is in the business of sick people (sickcare), that you can start to understand why your health is in a perpetual decline under the care of the western medical system. And, it is important to understand that it’s the system as a whole that is the problem, not necessarily, the individual ‘healthcare’ provider. Most individual providers have good intentions, they think they are doing a good job because they’ve also been indoctrinated by Universities that are funded by Big Pharma. When I said the system is at fault, I meant the entire system; right down to the education that is being provided. There is no area that hasn’t been infested by the multi-billion-dollar corporations, that is, Big Pharma; from the education industry, to the science industry, to the food, to the medical. It’s all a part of the hamster wheel. Big Pharma couldn’t possibly succeed if these sister industries weren’t in alignment with the trajectory of their sickcare business model. When you take the time to do a little background investigating, with the approach to follow the money trail, you soon start to see that all roads lead back to Big Pharma. Their money funds EVERYTHING! And, we all know that when someone is funding something, they expect outcomes that will protect THEIR interests. It is a major conflict of interest when it comes to what is best for the general population, and it is exactly why people are getting sicker not healthier throughout the ages…
I find that once people figure out that the system, or rather, business model is designed to make and keep people sick (lifetime customers), they then start to have the motivation they need to take their healthcare into their own hands. Now, I’m not saying that western medicine doesn’t have its place; if I break an arm or something like that, I’m going to the hospital. But, when it comes to my general health, I’m taking that into my own hands through implementing a holistic and natural approach.
If you’re new to this holistic world, let me break it down simply for you to make a start: body, mind and spirit are intrinsically intertwined. In knowing this, we must address all three layers in order to treat the whole person.
First, it’s important to clear any stuck energy. This can be done through any type of energy healing: Reiki, sound healing, kinesiology, 9D Breathwork, acupuncture, etc., whatever you feel called to.
Second, after clearing the energy that was keeping you trapped in dis-ease, you can then start to address your physical body. A lot of illnesses can be cured through diet. Organic food is always best, but if you can’t afford that just stick to what mother nature provides. Meaning, meat, vegetables and fruit. Cut out all the processed junk, the gluten, the soft drinks, the sweets. It’s also imperative that you drink filtered water. Fluoride, regardless of what your hamster wheel trained dentist says, is actually toxic waste. It was once dumped in landfill, but was deemed too unsafe for the environment so they now put it in our water. They treat it with more toxic chemicals to make it ‘safe’ for human consumption. I’m trusting if you’re reading this you’ve figured out by now that chemicals are not safe, especially when ingested daily!
Thirdly, after providing your body with premium fuel (food), you can now start to address your mind. I include any form of exercise in the mind section because all exercise is wonderful to clear your mind. If you’re not big on exercise start small with some walks and then add in some other things once you’re used to walking. Try yoga, pilates, boxing, running, whatever tickles your fancy. Next, incorporate any mindfulness activities. It could be colouring in, drawing, reading, listening to positive affirmations or podcasts. Just think of activities that will be good fuel for your mind. You can also include things like ice baths and saunas which are fantastic for clearing the mind, but also wonderful for the clearing and resetting the body, too. You’ll actually find that each practice will have a flow-on effect across all three areas of body, mind and spirit – again, because all three are intrinsically intertwined!
This, of course, is just a very brief overview of where to start, but if you’re completely new to life outside of the hamster wheel, it’s a good simple place to start. Obviously, for more complex issues there are other things you will need to incorporate. Once you’ve implemented the basic principles of body, mind and spirit, you can go on your own discovery of what holistic methods call out to you. Just start doing your own research. Listen to wellness podcasts, it really is the best way to discover what is out there and what might suit your specific needs. You’ll know what is right for you to try because you will feel drawn to it. If it doesn’t work, go back to the drawing board and try something else. More often than not, it’s not one thing that works, but rather, several things that make up treating your body, mind and spirit as the whole.
The main thing for you to understand from all that I’ve written in this article is that there is a very big difference between masking symptoms through sickcare, as apposed to curing symptoms through healthcare. Sickcare is the quick-fix (bandaid) option that will only lead to more health problems. Healthcare is definitely the longer and harder option, but it’s one that enables your body to truly heal, and the only long-term side effect of that is that your health will continue to thrive in body, mind and spirit!
I know which option I prefer…
